TKC Hot Cocoa (I.D. Required)

Beverages have been getting short shrift on this blog so I decided Christmas was a great time to bolster that category a bit. A few years ago, I IMG_0582came up with this idea and its been a Christmas staple at my house ever since. TKC (The Kitchen Cousins) Hot Cocoa is very easy to make and even easier to drink.

Prepare your favorite hot cocoa according to package directions. You can use what ever you want or have on hand. You can use Droste, Ghirardelli, Swiss Miss, Hershey’s in milk, heck, in a pinch, I’ve even used chocolate milk. If you start with chocolate milk or Hershey’s in milk, you’ll want to throw it in the nuker for a minute or so. Pour in a shot of peppermint Schnapps (you can just eyeball it) and, voila, TKC Hot Cocoa. If desired, garnish with a peppermint cane, marshmallows, whipped cream….. Sit back, relax and enjoy. Dancing sugarplums may or may not ensue.
